White Tara said:
“Once one has taken refuge in Grandmaster Lu, an emanation body of Amitabha Buddha, it is essential to honor the vows and precepts made to the root guru.”
Why is a Vajrayana root guru so valuable? Because Grandmaster Lu embodies the enlightened qualities of the Buddhas.
Able to teach humans and gods, and to transmit all secret Buddhadharma, he is able to guide, redeem, clear delusion, instruct, and grant deliverance…
Personal deities, dharma protectors, dakas, dakinis, and heavenly beings all appear only because of the teaching and guidance of the root guru.
You should regard your root guru as a Buddha. Uphold the Fifty Stanzas of Guru Devotion.
However, many people break the vows and precepts of the root guru. Thus, the number of practitioners who can truly attain accomplishment is few and far between, as rare as morning stars.
For example:
Devadatta was one of the eight princes who renounced the world and became monks, and he was also one of the great disciples of the Buddha. He had a close connection with Shakyamuni Buddha, since they were said to be related.
Yet he ultimately accused the Buddha of:
Dwelling in a luxurious home (Bamboo Grove Monastery).
Wearing the finest silk (expensive dharma robes).
Consuming the finest foods (offerings from devotees).
...
Devadatta harbored doubts about the Buddha’s teachings. His desire to lead the sangha later caused discord among the monks and led five hundred bhikkhus to leave the Buddha.
As a result, he broke his vows and precepts and fell into hell.
A second example:
The King of Tibet, Trisong Detsen, invited Padmasambhava to Tibet and took refuge with him. However, his confidence was weak and fragile.
The king’s ministers were practitioners of the Bon religion and condemned the practice of Padmasambhava and Yeshe Tsogyal as:
Unlawful.
Radical.
Deceptive.
Shameless.
As a result, King Trisong Detsen banished Padmasambhava and sent Yeshe Tsogyal into exile in “Ai Ba.”
King Trisong Detsen broke his vows.
Fortunately, he repented and performed re-purification sadhanas, and thus avoided falling into the three lower realms.

Today, Grandmaster Lu, an emanation body of Amitabha Buddha, has similarly been accused by a woman. Anyone who has interacted with her knows that she is ……
She speaks ill of Grandmaster Lu.
She has naturally broken her vows and precepts to her root guru.
Those who chose to believe her accusation and thereby became doubtful of their root guru will also have broken their vows and precepts.
Honor the Guru.
Treasure the Dharma.
Practice diligently.
If these conditions are not met, an unfortunate fate in the three lower realms will of course follow.

I, Grandmaster Lu, vow that:
“If one honors one’s Guru, treasures the Dharma, and practices diligently, yet does not become a Buddha, I, Grandmaster Lu, will bear responsibility!”
“I regard all sentient beings as myself, generating the greatest bodhicitta and treating them all with equality for their benefit.”
“I never act in a way that harms them.”
“I have personally verified and understood the attainment of buddhahood and the detachment from self and dharma. I can teach the six paramitas and great compassion, the discipline of meditative emptiness, freedom from worries and afflictions, the transience of life, the increase of kindness and virtue, the decrease of vice, and the purification of body, speech, and mind.”
Faithful disciples, remember to put on the armor of Right Views and use your innate wisdom to distinguish right from wrong, so that you may safeguard your vows and precepts to your root guru.
